Gratefulness:
1) My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his eternal love for me.
2) My beautiful wife, Kara, and our son, Nolan...and our baby on the way.
3) The opportunity that I have to work in the minds and lives of young people for a living.
Today, I spent the morning with Nolan at Wonderlab. It is amazing to see his eyes light up at the effects of the natural world around him. I take for granted the beauty of everything that is going on, but when viewed through his perspective, I too am in awesome wonder.
We visited Kara at the hospital and I love seeing her face and the expressions of her coworkers when they see Nolan. He brings them so much joy.
We had difficulty going down for a nap today, and I allowed my anger to get the best of me. We rocked for a few minutes and then Nolan took a nap. We've been struggling with this lately. In my mind, it feels like the end of the world, but in reality, he is growing up.
Act of Kindness:
Today at Wonderlab, I saw my college science teaching instructor, Hans Anderson. He is probably near 80 now and was volunteering. I introduced myself, because I'm sure he didn't remember me (I was correct). He was a great man that served IU for a long time in developing science teachers. He thanked me for coming over and saying hello. I assured him that his work is still making a positive impact on students around the world.
